Abergavenny Town Council hosted its annual Mayor Making Ceremony earlier this month.
Cllr Tudor Thomas was welcomed into the role at a civic service held at St Mary's Church.
The service was attended by the Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Agnes Xavier-Phillips representing the Lord Lieutenant of Gwent’s Office, and Mr Philip Alderman, High Sheriff of Gwent, alongside two of his High Sheriff Volunteer Police Cadets.
The Mayor's chosen charities are Cyfannol - Women and Men’s Aid, Abergavenny Foodbank and King Henry VIII Hardship Fund.
