Monmouth MP Catherine Fookes has visited Abergavenny after last night's fire at the former Richards Department Store.
The MP for Monmouth said: "This morning I visited the scene of the fire in Abergavenny to personally thank the firefighters and police officers who responded so swiftly."
"It’s heartbreaking to see the Richards Department Store building completely destroyed. I am very grateful to the 16+ fire engines and crews whose efforts prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings. Most importantly, I’m incredibly relieved that no one was injured in this devastating event."
