80 children age 3 - 17 living across Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire have created a 7 minute fantasy film.
Using only dance, the story follows a boy into the unique dream world he creates to escape his everyday reality.
Drawing inspiration from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, the boy’s imagination leads him on a journey where he becomes the hero.
The children are all students at Dance Your Way and this is the dance school’s third music video. It is the largest and most ambitious creative project they have ever undertaken.
They were lucky enough to film at Gloucester Cathedral (where scenes from the original Harry Potter films were shot), at Perrygrove Railway on a real steam train, at historic church ruins in Llanwarne, at St Mary’s Church in Ross on Wye and at a beautiful Christmas Tree farm in Hereford.
They worked with professional videographer Jack Blanch who also filmed their previous two shorter videos. The school hopes to source funding to expand their creative learning through the medium of film.
Future projects aim to showcase the beauty and heritage of the local area whilst giving the community’s young people access to professional training and experience in filmmaking.
