Ride+Stride for Churches in aid of Herefordshire Historic Churches Trust
Saturday, September 14th
Explore Herefordshire and its wonderful heritage on Saturday 14t h September as part of Ride+Stride for Churches. We hope that most churches and chapels in the county will be open to visitors coming by foot, bike, on horseback or even by classic car!
Are you interested in cycling, walking, riding - and the beauty of Herefordshire and its churches, Gothic architecture, stained glass windows, carved woodwork? Then get stuck in! Visit as many (or as few) churches as you want on the day. And it’s all for free! Any money you might raise through donations or sponsorship for a great day out goes towards supporting these buildings which are such an important part of our Engish landscape.
National Ride + Stride chairman Hilary Cakebread Hall says: “Churches are so important spiritually and aesthetically, and they are the setting for some of the most important events in all of our lives – baptisms, weddings and funerals. But they are also increasingly becoming a focus for the wider community.”
“Ride + Stride is not just for people who go to church, it is for couples and individuals who want an excuse for riding miles on a Saturday, or for families who want to do something fun and worthwhile.”
Ride + Stride takes place this year on Saturday, 14 September. Nationally, the event raises more than £1million annually. The National Churches Trust helps to co-ordinate the event and runs the national website but visit our own website at www.ridestrideherefordshire.uk
