Witness appeal to M5 collision

Emergency services were called to the M5 southbound between junctions 5 and 6 this morning following a collision.

Officers from West Mercia Police, together with colleagues from fire and ambulance, were called to a collision on the M5 southbound between junctions 5 and 6 at Wychbold just before 6am.

The collision involved a car and a van, resulting in the car ending up under the central reservation.  The two drivers, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 20s, are not thought to have life-changing or life-threatening injuries.

The motorway was blocked southbound causing a large build-up of traffic but all lanes were reopened shortly after 08:15 once the vehicles involved in the collision were safely removed from the scene.
