The latest part of a huge plan to build thousands of homes on the edge of Worcester has been revealed.
Bloor Homes has revealed the second phase of its major proposal which will see 310 homes built on land off Martley Road in Lower Broadheath.
Permission to build the homes has already been given in principle but the developer’s latest ‘reserved matters’ application concerns the layout and the design of the homes.
The mix of homes would include 12 flats, four two-bed bungalows, 109 two-bed homes, 109 three-bed homes and 76 four-bed homes.
Dozens of developments, which form part of urban extensions to the west and south of Worcester, include a massive £500 million, 2,200-home ‘super village between St Peter’s and Kempsey, two massive plans in Lower Broadheath which total more than 2,300 homes and a 255-home plan between the A4440 on the edge of the city next to the A4440 Southern Link Road.
Bloor Homes is the latest developer to put forward plans for its share of the homes on the huge site after major developers Taylor Wimpey and Redrow both submitted 482 and 439-home plans earlier this year.
A decision is still to be made on the layout and design of those homes.
It is the second application to be submitted by Bloor Homes in the area in recent months after the developer put forward plans for 150 homes on land known as Grove Farm off Bromyard Road in Worcester.
Worcester City Council approved another Bloor Homes plan for 175 homes on neighbouring land to the east of Oak View Way off Bromyard Road in September 2018 following Malvern Hills District Council’s decision to grant principle permission for 150 homes a few months earlier.
The University of Worcester had its plans to build 120 homes on its University Park site off Bromyard Road approved by the city council last year ending its decade-long ambition to build a £100 million science, health and enterprise hub.
The plans can be viewed via the planning section of Malvern Hills District Council’s website.
The application number is 20/02000/RM.
Public consultation ends on September 3.
