Police are investigating a report of an assault in Monmouth last month.

Two men were reportedly travelling in a burgundy Ford Focus near to the Queen’s Head pub in Wyebridge Street on Sunday 31st October.

The passenger – described as a white man, around 5’ 10” tall, of slim build with short brown hair and a dark, scruffy beard – has reportedly got out of the car before chasing after the Ford Focus.

He was wearing a light tan coloured waterproof jacket, white t-shirt with a graphic on the front and dark brown Air Force trainers.

This man has then allegedly assaulted the driver, leaving him with a stab wound to the leg.

The driver is described as mixed race, around 5’ 10” tall, of medium build with short and wavy dark brown hair.

He was wearing a grey beanie, black jumper, dark grey hiking style trousers and Air Force One trainers.

The passenger has then re-entered the car and both men have left the area, heading towards the town centre, in the same car.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who was in Wyebridge Street between 1.30pm and 3.30pm, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, on Sunday 31 October to get in touch by calling 101.
