A local project is determined to end period poverty within Herefordshire by offering free sanitary products in schools.

The Red Box Project Hereford is a community-based initiative which supports young people by providing red boxes filled with free period products to local schools.

A survey out today has revealed more than a quarter of women have missed work or school because they can't afford to buy sanitary products.

New research reveals over two-thirds have even been forced to use makeshift items at some point.
