The Courtyard’s work with young people and local communities is at the heart of this year’s Christmas Appeal which will go towards supporting the I Heart CY 20 campaign.
I Heart CY launched in October 2016, raising over £26,000 in its first year, in response to the withdrawal of regular funding from Herefordshire Council. The funds raised from this appeal have helped protect and develop the wide range of community arts programmes accessed by Herefordshire residents of all ages and backgrounds, as well as the venue itself.
This year The Courtyard celebrated its 20th Birthday which saw the launch of a brand new fundraising campaign I Heart CY 20, established to help The Courtyard raise £70,000 to continue to provide quality arts provision for the Herefordshire community.
Items on the I Heart CY 20 appeal wish list include funding to provide 20 bursaries to enable disadvantaged young people to attend youth theatre for a year and 20 new specialist arts toolkits so we can run high quality crafts sessions with older people.
Audience members will be invited to make donations via post-show bucket collections by the cast of both Christmas shows – Peter Pan & Snow White.
And there’s an online auction with some wonderful Lots donated by individuals and local businesses which would make great Christmas presents.

Funds raised will support our vital community arts projects with thousands of older people including those living with dementia, disadvantaged young people, as well as the venue itself which isn’t getting any younger.
