A popular Hereford wedding and events venue has been granted permission to serve alcohol until 1am every night, and on a larger area.

James Manning of The Shack Revolution in Bastion Mews off Hereford’s Union Street, applied in March for a licence to serve alcohol between 10am and 1am seven days a week, in an area to now include its courtyard, and also for permission to show films until midnight.

“This is an established, successful and vibrant business that wishes to extend the licensable area, amend the terminal hour for the sale of alcohol and operating hours to end at 01:00 every night,” the venue’s application said.

Approval of the application has just come to light, as Herefordshire Council does not currently publish online the outcomes of licensing applications decided by officers.

Shack Revolution already has permission to play live and recorded music.

The “urban industrial wedding venue” can accommodate up to 150 guests, and also hosts individual events such as the Bastion Street Feast, next scheduled for July 15, and Wye Valley Makers Market, due to be hosted again on September 17.
