Free bike rides in Hereford to mark start of COP26

People in Hereford will be able to get free rides of up to 60 minutes for Beryl bikes and e-bikes across Hereford to mark COP26 - from 1st - 12th November.

Throughout the period, riders can enjoy free unlimited rides on all journeys up to 60 minutes, on both bikes and e-bikes with free unlock for both.

As COP26 gets underway, this offer will enable more people to make small changes, to collectively have a bigger impact on reducing congestion and air pollution.

With more people seeking to see how they can personally tackle climate change, reducing car use and replacing those journeys with trips taken by bike and e-bike an play a crucial role.

COP26 is a global event in which countries come together to discuss plans to tackle climate change. This year, it is taking place in Glasgow.

Councillor John Harrington, Cabinet member for infrastructure and transport said: "While COP26 throws a spotlight on the action needed to tackle climate change globally, there is a lot we could all be doing to reduce our own carbon footprint.

''Cycling instead of using a car for short journeys is one small change that can help make a big difference. With free Beryl bike and e-bike rides until 12 November, we are hoping to encourage more people out of their cars, helping to reduce congestion in our city and getting people using healthy, active, sustainable transport."
